Lita Rossana Ford (also known by the name Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was the role of lead singer for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. The group was admired by their raunchy lyrics and punkish fashion. The group was not able to gain a lot of attention in The United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. Ford had a long and prosperous career as a solo performer after the band split together in 1979. She took voice lessons and recorded her first solo album , 'Out For Blood' and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Both albums failed to have much success, and Ford was largely absent from the world of rock for a few years. It was 1988 when Ford released her smash album "Lita". Both the single "Kiss My Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. Unfortunately her popularity was only temporary, and she was gone for a couple of years. The album's release Black in 1995 was followed by 15-year wait for 'Wicked Wonderland. The year was 2016, and her latest album'Time Capsule' was released. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
