Luciana was born at home in Rome through her father and mother - Luciana's father was Manlio Paoluzzi an Italian military officer. Her mom was Maria Rota Paoluzzi who was once one of Benito Mussolini's lover's wives. Her siblings are unknown. She attended a local high school, and after graduation in 1955, she enrolled in marine engineering in the Scientific Academy of Milan - Luciana was the sole female in her class. Then, after two more years of modeling, she got the role of Three Coins in the Fountain. The film was her debut. Brett Halsey - an actor - was her first spouse.
